taken during christmas next to the paragon. was helping my cousin take some pics of her children when saw this one. like the designs on the stars n the way it bends. o.. also my first try at desaturation.. but dun have ps so had to work with i photo.. yea.. just trying it out. comments r welcome=)
copy and pasted: btw.. i just found out tt eh vivitar series one 105mm f/2.5 i used for the macro shots is supposed to be one of the best 105mm macro lenses ever built. is this true? if anyone has heard about it please let me know. thanx so much=) if it is, would really love to get my hands on one... cos trying to decide on a macro lens.. either the nikkor 105s or this one...
it looks beautiful...like a dragon's tail!i wonder if it looked like that when you took the picture...

@zahra: nope. it din look very impressive thru my eyes... the bulbs were too bright and drowned out the detail on the stars. but really liked the way it curved.=)
It's lovely, don't worry about the software name... - the effect is what you're after! And guess what? You've got it!

Really nice shot there mate. Love the perspective and how they curve up into the sky. Really nice work for your first desaturation. Daz

@Darren: thnx darren. was squatting (almost lying down) in the middle of our busiest walk ways in town to get this shot (50mm lens). haha.. bet lots of ppl staring at me.=)
love this benjamin. nice vantage point and composition and great b&w.
Also thought yesterday's was a stonker of a shot. I wouldnt worry about it's composition. Its not always possible to get the 'perfect' frame etc. You can only work with what you've got sometimes, yeah? I thought it was a powerful image and you did well to capture it as well as you did.

^^ I used Paint one time for photo processing. The result was quite nice. This photo is really nice. getting all the details on the stars with the lights this near is really a good job.

As for your question regarding macro lenses, I have very little knowledge but I offer you this to bit of info - go to www.dpview.com or check out AF-S VR Micro-Nikkor 105mm f/2.8G IF-ED on the Nikon website. I'm also interested in getting one myself... BTW, I adore your camera - D200!!!

@m.e.: thnx m.e.=) ermz... ive checked out tt lens.. they said that its quite soft round the corners wide open... heard this vivitar outperforms it too even though it was made in the early 1980s.. found out the one my school has is the correct lens and is made by kiron too... so trying to get it from them=) haha. heard they got new budget for lenses. haha=) yups. its a great cam. accidentally slipped n hit its grip against a rock when i was trying to take the flower at the waterfall pic (OUCH!) . the rock chipped... =) haha... thnx for the info=)
