well.. seeing everyone doing the "work miniseries" i decided to tag along=) hope u guys dun mind. haha. well.. as a photographer for school events and concerts... theres lots of time for fun=) o.. the speedlight is canon cos my sb800 was on the ground to bounce the flash on me. didnt want to have a flash firing straight into the mirror so borrowed my friend's flash so i could point it backwards to trigger my sb800. nice effect=P haha. i din noe this canon flash could be slave too. if not would have done it the other way round with the nikon on my cam
question: ermz. does anyone noe exactly what "weather proof" on the d200 means? does it mean "i can use it in the rain without worry"? or does it mean "its ok if someone accidentally splashes something but dont get in the rain with it"?
Nice work Benjamin ! :-)

Hey Benjamin, nice to meet you. Great idea with the flash and cool shot!

Nice shot Benjamin! Dimitrios has got a point though! If the Canon flash has a bounce head - take a horizontal shot and bounce the light up to the ceiling - it will give a nice soft light without shadows and won't flash bang in your mirror (depends if you've got a white ceiling though?)
PS. Weather Proof means its OK in the rain - but don't drop it in a bucket of water - you need an underwater camera for that. My Nikon D50 is not even marked but I take photos in the rain - I just wipe the drops off soon as I can and put it away in my bag after shooting.

@Anne: o.. actually.. this was the effect i wanted to achieve.. well kinda.. wanted on;y part of my face to be lighted up and not so direct.. haha. gives the kind of "covert opps" feeling=P haha. anyway, i think i ll redo it with my soon instead. thnx=) o. thnx for the info on weather proofing. cos i ve been reading stuff online, afew claim to have shot in hurricanes without a case with the d200. but others say rain may hurt the circuitry. a canon guy said once he dropped his 1D with an L lens into a river when he fished it out it was perfectly fine. so was just wondering. thnx=)
Nice shot, great effect, but why so grainy? >.<" It spoils the whole picture...

@Koushiro Izumi: o.. love the grain here=P it add a certain dimension.. infact, i think having it clean would have spoilt the image. or at least the effect i wanted
Correct.. point the flash towards the ceilling and the effects will be alot different.

Great experimentation! Keep it up!

Very cool shot, I liked the effect you achieved and the way you are experimenting with different ways to go about it. I use D50, have it in a plastic bag in the wet now, decided not to risk any more extreme wet - but it's fine so far even in light misty rain.
