last sat, our exams were over so went with my fren to botanic gardens to take some pics. well. lighting was really nice, weather was great. only.. there wasnt really anything to take. so we paid abit to get into the orchid gardens and there were some really pretty flowers there=) starting to take my macros with a tripod now.. realise i pay attention to everything so much better with the tripod.. only... i have to lug 3.2 kilos of metal arnd. haha=)

nice shot! what lens did you use - would have been great to go nearer! i must start using the D200 more often... did you know the D300 is out? wow! but kind of weird for it to have iso staring from 200!?!?

hey sorry i didn't see the Tokina but noticed your topleft hand side said 150mm...er so it was the Tokina? Nice 1:1 lens - surprised you didn't go in even closer! maybe you may wnat to attach a Canon 500D in front to really get real close! but yeah D200 with a heavy lens is real pain to handle... tt's why i like my Canon G6 and S5 IS... very light and you only need a light tripod plus you've got angular lcd display - makes things real easy :)

@kairospix: well.. closer.. everyone does that. one flower by one flower. it gets boring. i prefer the composition this way, the pattern the individual flowers make as a whole. i used to take individually, but i realised i was going after detail rather than a photo=) anyway, for closer, i reverse mount a 50mm in front. focus to 1cm across. i ll be posting some pics of that soon. and well.. i think i ll take heavy weight & way better IQ over a compact anyday=) well.. almost=) yups heard abt the d300... its really nice, but... i think i ll just wait till i can jump to the D3=P
